Dave's Studio

Dave Blackshear started his repair career in 1976 graduating with the second stringed instrument repair class ever to be taught at Redwing College. He spent one year working with Johann Brentrup in the old Wagner Guitar repair location in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dave then worked two years at the Podium and did a stint at Pete's Guitar.

Dave then went on to an 18 year career building trade show exhibits and museum fixtures, honing his skills with a large variety of tools and techniques that he then began to apply to the luthier trade.

Then in 2005 Dave went back to his true love working with guitars full time. He is currently doing major restorations and repairs for Willies American Guitars.
